Interchangability:
All base-rings and cages here are interchangeable. If you buy one device and want to use a different cage with your base-ring at a later time, then you only need to buy the cage you want. Contact me with details for the cage you wish to purchase and I’ll send you an invoice for a “cage only.”
Only Three Measurements Needed:
Only three measurements are required to make a custom fitted device...base-ring width, cage-ring width and flaccid length.
If these are correct then you will create a device that will fit well and be very comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
Test rings:
The best feedback system is your body, and using test rings will allow your body to provide the best feedback possible.
You will be making your ring size decisions based on the way your body responds when wearing your test rings.
The correct size base-ring is the one you can wear for one to two days without experiencing any discomfort. If you experience any discomfort then the ring is too narrow.
While wearing your base-ring, slip a narrower cage sized ring onto your penis. It will provide excellent visual feedback, showing you how your penis will appear inside a cage. The cage sized ring should slip on easily. If the cage ring slips on easily then your cage will also slip on easily while you are wearing your base ring. If it's a tight fit then the cage on your device is also going to be difficult to slide into place.
The company in the following link sells affordable test-rings in the exact same sizes as the rings I make... https://tinyurl.com/Rubber-Test-Rings
Flaccid Length:
Your device shoule be sized so your flaccid penis is in a comfortable "resting" position filling the cage.
When the tip of the penis rests lightly against the front bars of the cage, you will be able to become aroused inside the device while avoiding discomfort.
If there is almost no room for the penis to become erect, then the device won’t hurt. If there is room for the penis to grow then you may experience pain.
1. A common way to measure flaccid length is by taking a measurement using a ruler. Be sure NOT to press the ruler into the soft flesh at the base of your penis...this is important, because doing so will make a cage that is too long.
The ruler should rest lightly against the flesh at the base of the penis. It is easier to see the end of the ruler when it is on top of the penis than when it is underneath the penis.
2. Another way to measure flaccid length is to use a paper tube. Using an empty paper tube (a toilet paper tube, or a paper towel tube), you place your penis inside the tube.
Be sure the tube only touches the soft flesh as the base of your penis. Do not press it into the soft skin.
Make a mark where the tip of your penis rests inside the tube. Remove your penis from the tube and cut off the extra amount of tubing. Put the tube onto your penis again to test the fit. The penis tip should be at the edge of the tube. If it's good then measure the tube's length. This is your flaccid length.
Gap:
There is no good way to measure for gap, but the 3/8" gap works best for the majority of men. Gap adjustments, if needed at a later time, are free...you only pay the cost of return shipping. If you have a bench vise at home, instructions showing how to adjust gap can be emailed to you.
Round versus Oval Base-Rings:
Oval rings are made from a round ring of the size you order. The ring is squeezed in a vise and its top-to-bottom measurement decreases by 1/16", which simultaneously widens the side-to-side measurement by 1/16".
Some men find an oval ring more comfortable whereas others prefer a round ring. Your body will determine which shape will work best for you, so unfortunately I can’t advise you which shape to buy.
If you have a bench vise at home, it's a simple matter to clamp the ring between two wood blocks (to prevent marring the ring) and squeezing the ring to change its shape.
If in doubt, it's safest to begin with a round base-ring that is the same width as the most comfortable test ring you've been able to wear for one to two days without experiencing discomfort.
Modifications and Adjustments:
1 - What CAN'T be changed: Since all cages are built upon their rings, a cage ring's width cannot be changed.
2 - What CAN be changed:
A) A Contender's cage length can be adjusted. All other cages on the website are pre-made and cannot be adjusted.
B) The gap on any device can be adjusted.
